“Twiki No Kami” is a brand-new split 7” featuring two outstanding bands from the Italian surf underground: the cosmic explorers Liquid Germs and the reverb-drenched wave riders Operation Octopus.

Formed in Piacenza in 1997, the Liquid Germs quickly built a cult reputation with their explosive mix of instrumental surf, sci-fi imagery and new wave energy, inspired by bands like Man or Astro-Man? and the futuristic aesthetics of classic ‘60s and ‘70s science-fiction. Their music is packed with vintage synths, twangy guitars and space-age atmospheres that feel like the soundtrack to a lost intergalactic B-movie.

Sharing the vinyl are Operation Octopus, an instrumental surf combo formed in 2017 by members of several well-known Italian underground bands including Diabolico Coupé, Titty Twister Orchestra and even Liquid Germs themselves. Their sound blends classic surf reverberation with cinematic melodies and tight arrangements, earning them appearances at the Surfer Joe Summer Festival and airplay on numerous international surf radio shows.

The result is a perfect meeting point between space-age surf and classic reverb-soaked instrumental rock’n’roll.
