The idea of making a commemorative record for Tiratura Limitata came from Geno De Angelis – the band’s bassist – in December 2020, during the full lockdown.
The project was to put on vinyl as many songs as possible written and recorded by the group between 1982 and 1987, the year the Tielle disbanded.
Due to Geno’s illness and passing, the making and production of the record were put on hold until now.
On side A of the record are the four studio tracks recorded on a 16-track tape machine, originally intended for an EP to be released in 1985, which never saw the light of day.
Side B features four songs recorded with a ghetto blaster – a portable cassette recorder – in the rehearsal room at Villa Amantea between 1985 and 1986. The side closes with a live track recorded at Acqua Potabile in Milan in 1985.
To these historical tracks, a new version of Doesn’t Make It Alright by The Specials has been added, recorded in May 2025, with Stefano Traldi from Rappresaglia on bass replaying Geno’s parts, Andrea Scaglia from Ritmo Tribale, Stingo and Marco Rotondo from Shockin’ TV, and Roberto Rizzo on backing vocals, together with Andrea Luciano – the band’s former saxophonist – joined by Ivan Padovani on trumpet and Davide Mazza on trombone in the horn section.
This recording had already been planned with Geno, but that project too remained unfinished.
The record will be released on November 8, 2025, published and distributed by Area Pirata Rec.
Inside the cover, a voucher will allow you to digitally download all the songs from the album plus additional unreleased tracks.
This record is for Geno De Angelis.
