Cheetah Chrome Motherfuckers The Furious Era 1979-1987

That’s where set its pace one of those cult HC-bands destined to leave an unhealed scar in the still-yet-to-come international musical landscape: furious lyrics full-throated by an out of control voice, a fast as lighting abrasive guitar with no place for any melodies but still abruptly original, along with a drumming ready to massacre ears… CCM (a.k.a. Cheetah Chrome Motherfuckers)

Their existence, corresponding with the most prolific HC momentum, ends up in 1987 and their two EPs, the split tape, the LP and the few other scattered songs are by far sufficient to single them out as a standing point and a reference for anyone interested in untamed music.
This release finally fills a gap: their sold out records had never been reprinted so far, thus reaching crazy prices among collectors, while even lame bootleg copies had started to jump out of nowhere.

Since the early start we worked with the two original sound engineers (from West Link Recorders) who had toured and shared all with the band, this “refreshing” of master tapes giving a new incredible shine to the original sound. We decided as well to include in the package pics, gig flyers and even extracts from lyrics.

Members of the band supported this project since the early start with the common mission to bring back to life a palette of that music which used to correspond with everyday living.

For those who luckily had a chance to see them live maybe moshing at one of their sped-up songs, but also for those others fascinated by the mysterious area surrounding their legend. )

E’ qui che prende forma una delle HC-Punk band seminali destinate a lasciare un segno nel panorama internazionale di quella scena nascente: testi rabbiosi, urlati da una voce fuori controllo, una chitarra velocissima con trame abrasive, mai melodiche e assolutamente originali e una sezione ritmica pronta al massacro!
Sono i Cheetah Chrome Motherfuckers…

La loro parabola, che coincide col momento più prolifico dell’HC, si chiude nel 1987 e i loro due EP, lo split tape, un LP e una manciata di altri pezzi, sono più che sufficienti per farli diventare un punto di riferimento per chiunque adori quel sound senza compromessi.
Questa ristampa va finalmente a colmare un vuoto che si era protratto negli anni: i loro dischi originali avevano raggiunti prezzi esorbitanti e in giro stavano comparendo sempre più spesso bootleg di qualità davvero scarsa.

Da subito ci siamo fatti coadiuvare presso il West Link Studio da due tecnici del suono che con i CCM avevano condiviso molto, ai tempi, e questo lavoro di mastering ha dato nuova brillantezza ai brani, catturati dai nastri originali. Ma anche a livello di contenuti abbiamo cercato di pubblicare le tantissime foto, flyer – spesso inediti – e allo stesso tempo accompagnarle con testi dei brani o parte di essi.

Fondamentale è stato il supporto ricevuto dalla band in questo progetto e l’obiettivo che speriamo di aver centrato è l’aver restituito un pezzo di storia di quella scena musicale che era anche uno stile di vita.

Per chi i CCM ha avuto la fortuna di conoscerli e pogarli nei loro scatenati live, per chi è rimasto affascinato dall’alone di mistero misto a leggenda che li accompagna e per chi ne ha solo sentito parlare.

Edizione in vinile: doppio LP 140 grammi vinile nero apribile con doppia inner sleeve con foto, flyer, testi e inserto ‘Discografia’ più biografia in italiano e in inglese.

Edizione in CD: doppio CD che include 36 pagine di booklet ed un materiale ancora più ricco, con copertina sovra cartonata ed un brano inedito finora.
