It\u2019s also the place where local deviates The Meatbeaters have been preaching their gospel of filth and sonic destruction for about two decades. Theirs is a loud, dirty, ugly din that has no time for subtlety. If you need proof, slap on this disc\u2019s \u201cC.O.A.B.\u201d or \u201cLunch\u201d and watch those easily offended run for their nearest safe space.<\/p>\n
Fans of Australian scuzz rock will find much to love here. The Meatbeaters\u2019 heavy, relentless assault recalls their Melbourne mates the Powder Monkeys or the Cosmic Psychos\/Onyas laced with Motorhead. Unlike those bands, however, they\u2019re barely known outside of their home country, even though they\u2019ve been killin\u2019 it for two decades with a hearty stack of stellar releases. This comp aims to right that wrong and score the Meatbeaters some international acclaim with a selection of 11 band originals, some of which are making their first appearance on vinyl here.<\/p>\n
