Totalmente entusiasmado con esta ópera prima. Que sensación más fantástica cuando escuchas un disco que va directo al meollo del asunto. Es lo que tiene el garage rock, que a veces da en el clavo. Pero al ser un género tan saturado, no siempre se encuentran discos que despierten esa sensación. Por lo que muchas veces, estas pequeñas gemas pasan inadvertidas en un mundo donde predomina la repetición de esquemas, el postureo visual y las modas por temporadas. The Scrubs<\/strong><\/em> ofrecen una auténtica maravilla de disco, que retro trae a aquellos peculiares años ochenta con todo el revival garagero.<\/p>\n Esta jovencísima banda italiana, procedentes de los alrededores de Lodi, se estrenaron con un sencillo. Este contenía los temas "Please Go Out<\/strong><\/em>" y "Hey Girl<\/em><\/strong>". Fue editado por la discográfica Area Pirata<\/em><\/strong>. Encuadrada esta disquera en los sonidos sesenteros, la psicodelia y el garage rock de todo el país. Su creación fue a principios del 2001, y sin duda están acaparando gran atención musical con ciertos sonidos. Solo hay que ver algunos de sus próximos lanzamientos, con leyendas del garage italiano como The Sick Rose<\/strong><\/em>. Estos temas por parte de The Scrubs<\/strong><\/em>, se grabaron en los Elfo Estudios y se editaron en enero del 2016. Tras una serie de conciertos para presentar el sencillo, deciden preparar el material para su primer disco. Skulls And Dolls<\/strong><\/em> ha sido editado en febrero del 2018. De nuevo grabado en los Elfo Estudios y producido por Alessio R<\/strong>. Estos catorce temas comprimidos en poco menos de media hora son pura dinamita roquera. Sinceramente, hacía mucho tiempo que no escuchaba nada de este género tan apetecible como este pequeño artefacto sonoro. La formación de The Scrubs<\/strong><\/em> varía según cada tema, siendo Fuzzy Al<\/strong> y Max Robbi<\/strong> los únicos participantes que repiten en todos los temas.<\/p>\n El estilo de esta joven formación es fresca y directa. Heredera de los esenciales comienzos de The Miracle Workers<\/strong><\/em>. De hecho, tienen características similares aunque también tengan influencias de The Fuzztones<\/strong><\/em>, The Sonics<\/em><\/strong> o The Chesterfield Kings<\/strong><\/em>, entre muchos otros. Comienza el disco con "Misery Girl<\/strong><\/em>", pildorazo tremendo de garage punk. Continua con "Blue Eyed Rat<\/strong><\/em>", corte de sonido beat super marchoso. "My Skull<\/strong><\/em>" es puro garage rock de la vieja escuela, sonido The Sonics total. "Je Suis Ton Freré<\/strong><\/em>" es un corte de garage muy básico, cantado en francés. Igual de básico es "Why Do You Hate Me So Much<\/strong><\/em>", toda una fiesta de sonidos sesenteros. Anfetamínico y cavernícola es el corte titulado: "Hurricane And Baby Doll<\/strong><\/em>". Sonidos de garage rock cavernoso resuenan en "Children Insane<\/strong><\/em>", fantástico corte. La única versión incluida en Skulls And Dolls<\/strong><\/em> es "Be A Caveman<\/strong><\/em>", correspondiente al combo The Avengers<\/strong><\/em>. Ecos de los noventa suenan en "Crocodile Jack<\/strong><\/em>" y "Horses And Bitches<\/strong><\/em>". Temas en la línea de The MonoMen<\/strong><\/em>, por ejemplo. El garage clásico de los años sesenta vuelve con la estupenda "GoalKeeper<\/strong><\/em>". Pura acción musical y diversión es "Pussy Pepper and Cheese<\/strong><\/em>". Pasando hacia un momento más relajado con "Sunny Day<\/strong><\/em>", donde el pop rock sixtie tiene cabida. Terminamos con "This Bag Is Not A Toy<\/strong><\/em>", dejando este disco un gran sabor de boca en todo su recorrido. Esperemos que tengan esta formación una buena repercusión, porque con tal debut se lo merecen con creces. Un pied dans la tradition (reprise de Be A Caveman) et un dans la modernité (cf. la pochette, ou ce son de guitare sec qui peut se rapprocher de celui des Subsonics avec cependant une approche musicale différente). Le dosage est minutieux sans trop ni d’un côté, ni de l’autre. CD digipack
\nOn se rapproche pas mal de la vague 80 du Revival Garage Punk, avec l’orgue façon Farfisa, la Fuzz, les sources d’inspirations 60’s Beat \/ Garage \/ Pop…
\nMais les Scrubs pratiquent ça avec une petite retenu qui les sort du côté rétro forever. Ça se joue à rien, le dosage est simplement assez différent : des mid tempo surtout, posés, parfois languides, même si ils peuvent accélérer aussi. La Fuzz est assez réglée au minimum afin que le son de la guitare reste très distinctif et mélodieux. Les cœurs sont posés le plus souvent de façon discrète, on sait qu’ils sont là mais ils ne s’imposent pas… Mais attention quand il faut balancer une pure décharge de Garage Punk les Scrubs sont là aussi. Mais ils ne le font jamais en forçant le passage à coup d’épaule, plutôt en livrant un titre ultra catchy et distingué !
