Not Moving – That’s All Folks

Released by La Tempesta Dischi / LaPOP Music and anticipated by the single “But It’s Not,” the album consists of ten tracks that encapsulate the band’s artistic creed and pay homage to their roots: the blues. The record develops along those lines while also drawing from punk, Gun Club, Cramps, The X, psychedelia, the Rolling Stones, and Bo Diddley. It closes with the lyrics of “Not Moving” by Arto Lindsay’s DNA, a track from No New York—the album from which the band took its name.

Since their first concerts in 1981 and their recording debut in 1982, Rita Lilith Oberti, Dome La Muerte, and Antonio Bacciocchi have consistently carried forward the spirit of the band. Even through long breaks and periods apart, Not Moving continued to live on through their individual solo projects, reissues, documentaries, a live recording from the 1980s, and a brief reunion between 2005 and 2006. In 2017, they reunited once more, releasing a new album and performing around a hundred concerts across Italy.

Now the story comes to an end. Rock ’n’ roll saves your life—but in return, it demands your soul, your heart, your flesh. It devours and destroys you. It’s a price agreed upon in adolescence and delivered to the Demon, who, in turn, has given back the life Not Moving always wanted and desired—in all its sadistic fragility—even as the body inevitably starts to falter.
