What follows is an introductory piece by Antonio Cecchi (formerly in Italian Hardcore band CCM) sounding almost more as a love declaration for both record and the band, than as a presentation:

What you're about listening to is not a record, but a legend!
Back in the Eighties - after the so called Punk Revolution had - luckily - evaporated just like the cheap glue it had been forcibly inhaling to hid the vacuity of most bands around, GREAT and REAL bands started to emerge, some playing so loud and intense you could even hear them on the other side of the Ocean. One of them, DOA, whose masterpiece even defined the new type of youth musical rebellion being fueled in those yrs, had the honor to name it: HARDCORE had only been a type of pornography since then. All in a sudden, HARDCORE became our lifestyle and our goal, THE standard for youths rebelling all over Europe (and the world).

When I got to meet Joey, Dave, Ken and the others in San Francisco in 1983, they would not believe my words when I told ‘em kids at shows back in Europe mostly had only DKs, Black Flag and DOA printed on the back of their jackets. Those where the big bands, no-one around sounded like those guys did, ever before and after (ehmm…. and they still do, actually!)

And so it came the 1st DOA European tour whose gigs I had the chance to help arranging here in Italy, which proved how powerfully honest and good they were!

And as a result, my band CCM was able to share stages, long night drives, sweat and loyal friendship, with DOA in the States and Canada as well, for a leg of our 3 months tour there, swiftly arranged by their tour manager Ken Lester.
Then, some 30 yrs later, having become a dad for my first time, I drove to Bologna - the same city to which I had driven Dave Gregg (R.I.P.) to play in 1984 in a drizzling snowstorm - to watch DOA again live. Time and Destiny had taken away Dave, Ken, Gary, Jon and many other beloved unforgotten Canadian buddies of mine, but Joey and his two new not-so-young fantastic band members were still a stunning HARDCORE act to see live on stage, expecially with your 11-yr son by your side, totally loving what he heard thru the same Joey's worn-out Marshall and brown SG.

DOA still existed: as honest, great and powerful as ever.
Thank you DOA, for crossing my path in this life.

This you're about listening to is not a record, but a legend!

Antonio. CCM,
